I’m super excited that you found this blog, and I hope you’re as eager to read it as I am to write it. To start with, I’ll introduce myself: my name is Alle, I’m 21 years old, and I’ve been staffing anime conventions since Spring of 2016. I staff around seven conventions a year, but that number has been steadily growing. Within these cons, I’ve been part of general staff, tech, guest relations, game room staff, and cosplay cafe staff, so I’ve seen a lot of different sides of the convention world.
I’m here because I want to show people outside of staff what it’s like to be a part of this community. Obviously every con is different and no one’s staff experience is going to be the same as mine, but I love working with the groups I staff with and want to share that love with you.
In this blog I plan to share with you every facet of staffing that I can. From the general layout of a staff group to personal interviews with my friends and connections from the groups I’m a part of, I hope to give attendees a taste of staffing from every angle available to me.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I’m by no means an expert, there are so many people who’ve been staff longer than I have, in higher positions than me, and with more experience than me, but I still want to give you all the information I can. Who knows, you might even discover that staffing sounds like the perfect fit for you!
